Fans Who Present “I Voted” Sticker to Receive $5 Off
LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena College Basketball season tips off with an Election Day doubleheader at the Times Union Center on Tuesday, Nov. 5 – marking the earliest home openers in the history of both programs.
The exciting evening of Saints basketball will begin with the women’s team taking on Binghamton University at 5 p.m. In a serendipitous nod to the Election Day timing, the men’s squad will host American University at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to head to the polls and vote prior to casting their support for the Saints during the evening’s doubleheader. Fans who present a Board of Elections-issued “I Voted” sticker at the Times Union Center Box Office will receive $5 off a full-priced ticket, which provides admission to both games.
“As we celebrate the beginning of another exciting season of Siena Basketball, we’re happy to offer fans who vote an exclusive savings to our Election Day, Opening Night doubleheader,” said Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D’Argenio. “We encourage our fans to join us and cast their support for the Green and Gold!”
Saints fans will also have an opportunity to vote for their top moment in Siena Men’s and Women’s Basketball history. Five fans who vote in the contest by visiting sienasaints.com/vote will be randomly selected to win a pair of tickets to the Election Day doubleheader.
Excitement is high surrounding both Siena Basketball teams heading into the 2019-20 season. Under the direction of new head coach and alumnus Carmen Maciariello ’01, the men return 10 letterwinners from last year’s squad which finished in a tie for second place in the MAAC, headlined by reigning unanimous MAAC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-MAAC selection Jalen Pickett. Highlighting the women’s squad is leading returning scorer senior Sabrina Piper (10.9 points per game) to compliment a talented group of newcomers featuring five true freshmen.
