Enter to win the chance to dig through a tub of rice for a $6,000 ring

ALBANY, NY, – Siena Athletics and Northeastern Fine Jewelry are teaming up to present a Valentine’s Day to remember for one area couple. At halftime of the Siena men’s basketball game at Times Union Center on Tuesday, February 14, three contestants will dig in a tub of rice to recover a $6,000 diamond engagement ring from Northeastern Fine Jewelry.

The winner of the “Diamond Dig” will be awarded the .70 carat, round brilliant-cut diamond with a Scott Kay palladium mounting and .38 carat side diamonds. The runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card to Northeastern Fine Jewelry.

“Our longstanding partnership with Northeastern Fine Jewelry has resulted in many magical moments for fans,” said Siena College Director of Athletics John D’Argenio. “We look forward to another exciting initiative on Valentine’s Day that will prove memorable for one couple.”

“Siena basketball provides the Capital Region’s premier winter sports and family entertainment,” said Ray Bleser, owner and founder of Northeastern Fine Jewelry. “This diamond giveaway is our way of adding some additional sparkle to the season while inviting fans to experience the excitement and thrill of the hardwood.”

Three “diggers” will be chosen through contests administered by Siena Athletics, Northeastern Fine Jewelry and Kristi Gustafson Barlette’s Times Union “On the Edge” blog.

Entrants in each contest must not be engaged or married but must be in a committed relationship and considering engagement. Entrants must also be able to attend the Siena men’s basketball game vs. Manhattan at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14 at Times Union Center.
