New York State 4-H Shooting Sports…The Activity of a Lifetime
New York State 4-H Shooting Sports will feature the laser shot simulated shooting booth at the Northeast Outdoors Show. The booth will include a number of shooting and hunting simulations where, for a $1 donation to 4-H, you can test your skills or challenge each other for the best score. Every shooter will receive an “I Discovered 4-H Shooting Sports” ribbon each time they shoot.
4-H Shooting Sports includes: Archery, Rifle, Shotgun – including Muzzleloading Shotgun, Muzzleloading and Living History.
Ultimate Camping Package

At the show entrance, take some time to fill out an entry blank for the Ultimate Camping Package. One lucky attendee will receive this phenomenal prize:

Live Gundog Demonstration
Stonewall Boarding & Game Preserve will help you select the right gundog with an educational seminar and live gundog demonstration. Learn what breed of gundog is right for you, how to select the right breeder and how to introduce your dog to the field and guns. Turkey Calling Contest (sanctioned by the Wild Turkey Federation)
Cash prizes will be awarded to winners the annual Turkey Calling Contest. Come compete against some of the best callers in the area – or, just come to watch them “gobble.” Participants can register on Friday and Saturday at the National Wild Turkey Federation booth. There will be a youth category, too. The contest takes place on Saturday!
Live Predatory Animals with Andrew Simmons
Visit Andrew Simmons and his live predatory animals – a family favorite!
Simmons is a renowned wildlife expert who specializes in predators. He has studied and raised wild animals for nearly four decades and travels with large cats, bear cubs, carnivorous reptiles and birds of prey. Simmons will be on-hand at the Northeast Outdoors Show to entertain families, while providing an educated and accurate view of wildlife preservation.
Fly Casting Pond
The Capital District Fly Fishers (CDFF) will be on hand at the Fly Casting Pond to promote the sport of fly fishing for all fish, in all waters – cold, warm, salt, and fresh. Join them for one of their hourly seminars or get some tips in the art of fly tying. Instructors will include children from the Saratoga 4-H Youth Group.
Sunday Scout Day
Scouts receive free admission on Sunday, March 21st with merit badge sash and paid adult. All scouts can register-to-win our “Scouts only” prize --- either a $50 gift card to Toys R Us or to Crossgates Mall.
A Bird of Prey Experience (Sunday Only)
Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience will take flight on Sunday, March 21 at the show. Specializing in falcons, hawks, and owls, Talons! offers an up-close-and-personal view of these wild birds, in addition to education on birds of prey. Stop by the Talons! display and get your photo taken with one of these amazing birds!
“Go Fish”
A fully-stocked trout pond will offer visitors a chance to test their newly acquired skills. A family oriented attraction, kids can “go fish” for just $3.00.
Archery Tournament by Bowhunters Plus
Bowhunters Plus is hosting a 3 day Vegas shoot at the Northeast Outdoors Show. Age groups will include:
- Cub (up to 13 yrs) $10.00
- Young Adult (up to 16 yrs) $15.00
- Adult $25.00
- Senior (55 and up) $25.00
Divisions will be Freestyle, Freestyle Limited, Bowhunter Freestyle, Bowhunter Freestyle Limited, and Traditional. Bowhunters Plus will also be raffling off a new bow. Call Bowhunters Plus at (518) 843–5500 for registration and tournament details.

Show attendees will have a list to choose from that covers encompasses the entire outdoors.
Hunting seminars topics include whitetail deer, turkey, duck, goose, and predators plus how to select the right gun dog.
Fishing seminar topics include fly fishing, striped bass, black bass, walleye, salmon and trout.
Biking seminar topics include how to repair and update your bicycle.
Hiking seminar topics include gadgets and gizmos for hiking & backpacking.
