SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – UHY LLP, one of the leading tax and business consulting firms in the Capital Region, today presented The Foundation for Ellis Medicine with a $2,500 grant to support the new Bringing Baby Home initiative at Ellis Medicine’s Bellevue Woman’s Center in Schenectady, N.Y.
The donation provides for the purchase of 33 car seats that will be made available to new parents in great need of the equipment at the time of discharge after giving birth. The Bringing Baby Home program is designed to serve as a valuable resource for parents to safely transport newborns during the first trip home and into their early childhood.

The new car seats will be available to parents who demonstrate a strong need through a collaborative assessment process conducted by Ellis Medicine nursing and social work staff. The car seats will also be available for mothers of premature babies who may not be prepared for an infant’s early arrival. The Bringing Baby Home initiative is made available through The Foundation for Ellis Medicine’s Corporate Partners Program.

Bellevue Woman’s Center, a service of Ellis Medicine, is the region’s only inpatient facility dedicated to the care of women and infants.
