UHY LLP donates $48,500 to support 56th Annual Center for Disability Services Telethon

Telethon to feature meet-and-greet with New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius, presented by UHY LLP

ALBANY, NY; UHY LLP today announced it will donate $48,500 to support the 56th Annual Center for Disability Services Telethon at the Radisson Hotel Albany on Wolf Road in Albany, NY on Sunday, January 31.

The telethon will feature a meet-and-greet with New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius from noon to 3 p.m., presented by UHY LLP. Photos with Pierre-Paul are $25 and pre-signed photos and footballs are $50 and $100. Autographs from Gregorius are $25. Proceeds benefit the Center for Disability Services.

“UHY has been a longtime partner of the Center for Disability Services and we’re proud to once again support the telethon this year,” said Howard Foote, UHY LLP Office Managing Partner, Capital Region. “It’s our honor to work with an organization that for decades has provided invaluable services to thousands of residents in the greater Capital Region.”

Known to fans as “JPP,” Pierre-Paul, 27, a 6-foot-5, 278-pound defensive end, is considered one of the fiercest pass rushers in the National Football League. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was named a First-team All-Pro in 2011 and won a Super Bowl with the Giants in 2012.

Gregorius, 25, joined the Yankees infield in 2015 and had the unenviable task of replacing the legendary Derek Jeter as the team’s starting shortstop. Gregorius batted .265 with nine home runs and 56 RBI during his first season in pinstripes.

For more than 73 years, the Center for Disability Services has been the place to turn to for innovative services and expert care for individuals with disabilities and chronic medical conditions in the Capital Region. It provides services to more than 12,000 individuals of all ages and their families at 80 locations throughout fifteen in Upstate New York.

The Center for Disability Services Telethon will air on FOX23 from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 31. Donations can be made in person, by phone, or online at www.cfdsny.org/donation.aspx.
