The Adirondack Trust Company donates $10,500 to support 2017 fundraising efforts for The Wesley Community

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Wesley Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, will host its annual gala at the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club on Saturday, May 20 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The theme of this year’s event is “Bond Style,” which will invite attendees to enjoy an evening filled with the style and suspense synonymous with the classic James Bond films.

Proceeds from the evening will support the renovation of the Resident Activities Room at The Wesley Health Care Center. The residence caters to aging adults who may have significant, chronic medical needs requiring daily assistance. The Resident Activities Room serves as a social hub for these residents, and provides a venue for performances, religious services and other social gatherings.

“The annual gala will be a fun, festive night to support a wonderful cause, and it will certainly make a difference for all the residents that call the Wesley Health Care Center home,” said Tom Roohan, honorary chair of this year’s gala alongside his wife, Kristie.

“The Wesley Foundation continuously helps the many seniors who depend on the outstanding services available at the Wesley Health Care Center,” said Kristie Roohan. “We are honored to help organize the annual celebration, which will further assist The Wesley Community in meeting the needs of its residents who require daily care and support services.”

The presenting sponsor of this year’s gala is The Adirondack Trust Company, which recently presented a $10,500 donation to The Wesley Foundation in support of its 2017 special events, all of which are dedicated to raising funds for the renovation of the Resident Activities Room.

“We are very pleased to support The Wesley Health Care Center and the outstanding service they provide to their residents,” said Executive Vice President of The Adirondack Trust Company Charles V. Wait, Jr. “We are equally pleased to once again serve as the primary sponsor for this year’s gala that raises critically needed funding for the development of the Resident Activities Room.  This room enriches the lives of the residents and also provides them with an important social area as well.”

Additional major sponsors for the gala are Roohan Realty and Marshall & Sterling Insurance. Other sponsors include AOW Associates, Inc., Crescent Hill Partners/Ray Martin, Fine Affairs and The Fort Miller Group, Inc. The gala committee chair is Wesley Foundation Board Member Timothy Busch.

“The Wesley Health Care Center is home to residents who have contributed tremendously to the growth of Saratoga Springs, and have played a major role in helping the region flourish. I can think of no better way to celebrate that dedication and commitment than supporting a cause that will help improve their daily lives,” Busch said. “I’m truly honored to help continue this tradition which benefits the many seniors who reside at The Wesley Community.”

The numerous other committee members who have been volunteering their time to help with the annual gala includes Winnie Baden, Eliza Bianco, Alicia Butler, Geriann Eddy, Judy LeCain, Charlotte Mosso, Lorrie Shilling and Kimberlee Williams.

Guests will enjoy food from Chef John Ireland, a British-inspired dessert bar, and a cash bar which features a martini slide. The event will also feature music by The Refrigerators, décor from Fine Affairs, a silent auction, and Bond-inspired selfie stations, in addition to other activities.

Several luxury vehicles in line with the Bond theme will be on display, including a high-end motorcycle courtesy of Seymour’s Motorized Sports, and a high-speed jet boat, courtesy of Alpin Haus.

Tickets are $125 per person or $200 per couple. Reservations are required and can be made by phone at 518-691-1420 or at www.thewesleycommunity.org/gala.

The Saratoga Golf and Polo Club is located at 301 Church Street in Saratoga Springs.
