BST & CO. TO HOST CYBER SECURITY SEMINAR FOR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

ALBANY, New York, – BST & Co. CPAs, LLP, one of the Capital Region’s leading financial and management consulting firms, will welcome not-for-profit executives to learn how to protect their agency from cyber intruders during a seminar titled “Cyber Security – Is Your Organization At Risk?” on Thursday, September 28 from 8 to 10 a.m.

During the event, top cyber security professionals from the Capital Region will share valuable insight, best practices and new approaches for not-for-profit organizations in relation to network security and systems.

The seminar is the next installment in the BST & Co. Maximize Your Mission Not-For-Profit Impact Series, presented by Key Private Bank. The event includes breakfast, presentations, and an interactive question-and-answer session with cyber security professionals.

The panel of presenters includes a distinguished selection of the Capital Region’s top cyber security professionals, including:

  • Sean L. Hickey, Senior Vice President of Rose & Kiernan, Inc.

Hickey has 20 years of insurance industry experience serving in key underwriting and leadership roles within the commercial and risk management practice groups of several of the nation’s largest insurers. He will discuss types of insurance products available to address cyber security issues.

  • Eric Kamerling, Senior Director of the Center for Internet Security

Kamerling has 19 years of experience in the fields of advisory and consulting, network security assessment, penetration testing, vulnerability research, monitoring/ incident response, and fundamental security research.

  • Christopher Meyer, Of Counsel for Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna LLP

Meyer represents clients in privacy, cybersecurity, data retention, intellectual property, and defamation-related matters. He provides advice to clients in a wide variety of industries where privacy and cybersecurity are critical business concerns.

The seminar will be held at Wolferts Roost Country Club at 120 Van Rensselaer Boulevard in Albany. Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. with the program beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Times Union Hope Fund is a component of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region which raises money and awards grants to after school and summer programs serving at-risk children throughout the Capital District.
