Norreida Reyes Public Relations Specialist

Norreida works diligently alongside the firm’s clients on media relations and social media efforts, from concept to strategic story placement to coordination of press conferences, media events, and more.

Norreida joined ELA in June 2011, bringing 15 years of public policy and political communications experience. She worked in both the NYS Senate and Assembly, as well as led lobbying and grassroots efforts on behalf of environmental and education advocates.

Norreida has ghostwritten everything from hearing testimony to blog posts, on topics ranging from solar power to poverty, Video Lottery Terminals to violent crime, local economies to Lady Gaga’s meat dress, and everything in between. She created and implemented social media marketing campaigns for entrepreneurs and elected officials alike, engaging key audiences in relevant, meaningful ways.

Norreida graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University at Albany, with writing-intensive studies in world cultures and the human condition.

Born in New York City, Norreida came to Albany, N.Y., circuitously after two decades spent in Woodland Hills, Calif., and Kansas City, Mo. When not working, Norreida can be found scribbling on her latest manuscript, enjoying quality time with her daughters (one adult, one teen), burying her nose in a book, nourishing her political news junkie habit, woolgathering, or gleefully releasing her inner child wherever Trekkers congregate.

Best method to overcome writer’s block:
“There's nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.”  ~Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith

Currently on nightstand:
Cloning for Dummies and World’s Greatest Speeches

First job out of high school:
Costumer for small theatrical supply company. The shows were great – but Halloween? A nightmare.

Top Bucket List item:
To be a red shirt in Star Trek right behind winning a Pulitzer for my Great American Novel.

Biggest regret:
Bear hunting without a license. Well, I had a license but it was for the car.  Car totaled.  Poor bear...off to the Great Woods in the Sky.
